More than 1,000 triathlon athletes from China and 12 countries joined 2017 Chongqing Changshou Lake International Triathlon, making it the most popular event throughout the history of the game. There were famous triathlon athletes including German and Australian athletes Peter and Mitchell Robins, who were in the Elites as well as famous Chinese triathlon athletes Wang Shouyi, Jiang Quanfeng and Sui Huajian, together with local triathlon athletes She Ruzhuang and Wan Xiaoju etc.
